What to wear with your fabulous jeans...

The way that you accesorize your jeans can be the difference between looking good and looking spectacular. Even if you are wearing a T-shirt and jeans, you can look fabulous with the right shoes, belt, and shirt. The best jean color to look polished and ready to go from day to night are dark tones. For day looks, you can pair your jeans with a pair of ballerina flats or a pair of flat sandals with jewels or stone embellishments. If your budget affords it, you should always have a shorter pair of jeans to wear with flats and a longer pair to go will heels. It is very important that you don't have too much excess jeans at the bottom were your ankles are because you can end up looking sloppy. This can come from wearing your longer jeans with flats. In terms of belts, higher waisted jeans look great with a skinny belt or a thicker belt which cinches the waist. For Spring and Summer, it can be fun to brighten things up a bit with a bright color for a belt, like red, green, or even yellow. If you are wearing lower rise jeans, a thick leather belt can compliment the look. A crisp, white T-shirt or fitted button down looks fantastic with a pair of dark denim jeans. For lower rise jeans, a fun, flowy empire waist halter top can alway be used with jeans and a pair of heels for an evening out on the town. Ensure that you lower rise jeans do not grab you areas which can give you the muffin top effects. Your most fashionable, designer jeans will looks terrible if they are ill fitting. When doing a T-shirt and jeans, you can pull off a day to night, casual chic look by adding a pair of funky wedge shoes and thick beads. If you have a Low V-Neck Shirt, a nice thick beaded necklace can look well put together. The Safari look is in for Spring as well so do some wooden beads and thick wood bangle bracelets look great! Jeans work very well for casual Friday, especially trouser style with a fitted jacket or blazer.

Where to find great JEANS

I have gotten my jeans from many different places, not just one. I must say the place where you can get all of the jeans I have discussed can be purchased at Nordstrom or Nordstrom.com. The great thing about Nordstrom is that the customer service is great so the help is fantastic and you can try on tons of jeans. If the jeans are too long or need to be taken in anywhere, Nordstroms have alterations on site. Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus also have great denim departments that carry all of these jeans as well. There are also discount locations such as:

1) Last Chance - Nordstrom Discount Retailer where you can find great deals on Nordstrom Merchandise. You really have to inspect the jeans though because some have minor defects.
2) Loehmans Plaza - Great Discount location for finding quality jeans.
3) Maruchi - Discount location for Designer Jeans and other apparel

Best Jeans For Your Body

There are about 3 most typical shapes for women's bodies when it comes to fitting jeans.
The first one is a pear shape which is when someone has their bottom heavier than the top. Pears are curvy and have on the bottom in the thigh and behind area. The best fitting jeans for Pear shaped figures are bootcut and and straight cut. Seven, Paige, and Citizens of Humanity are great fits for curvy figures.

Apple figures are heavier on top than on the bottomand keep most of their substance in the chest and stomach area. Pear shapes should avois skinny jeans because they emphasize the top heaviness. Boot cut, straight leg and flare leg are great to bring proportion to Pear figures. If you have a bit of a tummy, a wider waist band deflect attention from the middle area. Seven, Citizens of Humanity, and AG are good jeans for Curvy figures.

The third is a rectangular shape, also known as a boyish shape. Curves on rectangular shapes are minimal on top and bottom. The key is the wear jeans that will create the illusion of curves. Skinny jeans and jeans with flared legs create are great for this body type. J Brand, Rock & Republic, and Sevens are great for rectangular shapes.

Trouser jeans look great on most figures. High waisted trousers are best for slim, tall figure types.

Joe's Jeans offers a great array of jeans for every figure:

Honey-Curvy

Cigarette-Straight

Rocker-Flare

Muse-High Waist

Twiggy- Tall

Today's Hottest Jeans

Spring and Summer's hottest jeans have to be the trouser jeans. The high waisted ones are fabulous and some even come in a sailor style with the buttons. The colors for this season are white, periwinkle, and seasonless dark denim indigo. My favorite brands for trouser jeans are Joes Jeans, Seven, and Rich and Skinny. I have a pair of Rich and Skinny trousers which are dark denim and are high waisted. These are my most celebrated jeans. Whenever I wear them, I get lots of compliments. I have seen them in bright red as well which I think would be a spectacular color for spring! White jeans in a trouser style are HOT but the perfect pair are hard to find. The key to white jeans is finding a pair that is not see-through, long enough, and flattering - white can be unforgiving. Sometimes you could see the pockets through the pants which can deter your purchase. No need to fear; you can take them to your local alterations spot and have the pockets removed. White jeans go great with every color from pastels to brights, including a white tank top or even a T shirt to have a perfect white hot Miami look! I have been looking for the perfect pair for two years and I still have not found them. High waisted trouser jeans go very well with feminine blouses with or without ruffles, tank tops, or even a fitted T-shirt. The key is to tuck in the shirt to show the waist definition of the high waisted jeans. Another brand I am completely obsessed with is J BRAND! The have these beautiful bell bottom jeans names "Love Story" and they also come in high-waisted which is "The Doll."

Welcome to my Denim Blog!

This blog is about my obsession with jeans. I am definitely one to say that you can never have enough jeans, even if "this happens to be my 7th dark denim pair!" I'd like to write about several pointers that will help those who are looking for a new pair of jeans, don't know what style or brand fits their body type, where to get those new pair of fabulous jeans, and of course, where you can find the bargains. Since I am 5 ft 11 inches, it has always been somewhat of a challenge to find jeans that fit well and are long enough for me, even with 3 or 4 inch heels! My body type is not a common one, so I could not necessarily go to my local Gap, Old Navy, or Banana Republic (I think they are all under the same ownership umbrella) and find a perfect pair. Correct me if I am wrong but it seemed that all the jeans from those three stores had some type of built in hip pockets! Ay Chihuahua, I have no hips and not too much of a behind so when I would try on one of these jeans, I'd feel as if I had these empty bags of Potato chips around my hips. I know that GAP has come up with new fits of jeans BUT they are definitely not the same as the jeans that I have collected in the past 5 years.
